The first episode to the new season of house is the best thing i've seen on TV in a long time. House went to rehab for his addiction to pain killers. He went through exactly what my dad went through, the vomiting the sweating, The feeling of insanity and complete pain while you body tries to rid it's self of the toxins you forced upon it. Once his body was clean again he was able to interact with others, At first resisting all treatment and trying to figure out an easy way out. He analyzed everyone and used all of thier personal issues against them. After many failed attempts to get out early he starts to fake accepting help.
There are several people in the rehab center but house favors this man who thinks that he is a super hero. A doctor puts "superman" on anti-depresants and discourges all his beliefs in being anything but normal. "superman" losses his optimistic character to the medications. House fed up with seeing a shattered soul "kidknaps" him and takes him to a fair with an Ifly center. "superman" returns to his optimistic self, while walking to the car in the parking garage "superman" thinks he really can fly and jumps off one of the floors almost killing himself. House is devistated and finally accepts all help.
There is another charecter we'll call her "Spacey" all she does is stare into space. Never says a word or ecknowledges any other person's presense. when "Superman" first meets her he says he can fix her and says that the doctors put her voice and it was in the medicine room. But after the accident at the fair he doesn't ever say a word to any one. During one of the group therapy sessions House remembers "superman" talking about the women's voice and see's a music box in the medicine room. The doctors give it to him and he hands it over to "superman". It does nothing. Several days later in the rec room he wheels superman over to get meds and they pass "spacey" house stops infront of her and suddenly "superman" Starts moving and hands her the music box everyone stops and stares as Spacey finally moves for the first time in years. All she needed was her music box.
They both returned to thier normal selves after that.
All it took was two "broken" spirits to fix each other.
House ends up leaving the Rehab and he seems like a completley different person. But once outside the center he smirks to himself and you know that he's never going to let anyone know that he's a changed man and that he got help.
This episode really hit close to home, and inspired me. I even shed a few tears. Tonight i might actually sleep with a smile on my face and my soul at peace.
